Q: What fastener materials/coatings are recommended for use
with treated wood?
A: We recommend Stainless Steel and Magni® as
materials/coatings that can, in appropriate environmental conditions,
be used with
the following pressure treated lumber: ACQ-C, ACQ-D, ACQ-D
Carbonate, CBA-A, CA-B, SBX and CCA.
Q: What types of tools are a part of the PAM product
line?
A: The PAM product line includes both Collated
Specialty Fasteners and Autofeed
Screw Gun Systems.
Q: What are the benefits of
a PAM autofeed system?
A: PAM auto-feed systems offer the following benefits:
consistent, reliable, quality results with labor saving speed
ergonomically-friendly, allowing fastening from a standing
position
durable, light weight construction
no waste
Q: What are the benefits of the PAM collated fasteners? A: PAM collated fasteners bring unique benefits to
the job site, including:
engineered for top performance in their intended application
improved pull-down, and withdrawal resistance versus nails
increased speed, efficiency and safety versus bulk fasteners
ensures you drive every screw on the strip – no wasted
fasteners
Q: Where can PAM tools be used? A:
PAM manufactures tools and collated screws for applications
including:
subflooring and underlayment
composite and pressure treated deck and dock material
clay and ceramic roofing tile
drywall to wood or steel framing
manufactured housing operations
steel framing, metal roofing and siding
steel decking and stitching
cement backerboard
Q: Are special skills needed to operate PAM tools?
A: Not really. Training can usually be done in less than a
minute. As with any tool, there are good and bad operating
methods and efficiency will increase with experience. Click
to our Troubleshooting Guide to see the more common mistakes
and speed your efficiency.
Q: How easy is it to reload?
A: Just slide in a new strip.
The strips can be fed from either end so there’s
no doubt which way they go. There's nothing to loosen, tighten
or adjust. Slide
the strip into the belt guide, into the gliding piece until
the leading screw is just before the nosepiece.
Q: How durable are PAM tools?
A: Our tools are built of aluminum, hardened
steel and engineered polymer. We have field tested several
generations
of our current
basic design to deliver a trim, light weight tool designed
for the job site.
All PAM tools are the most durable auto-feed
drivers on the market - backed by our 1 year warranty.
The Milwaukee screwguns included in
our systems are chosen for their ability to meet the heavy
demands of auto-feed driving. Each is built to the high standards
maintained by these manufacturers and carries the manufacturers
full warranty.
Q: What kind of screws can be driven with PAM tools?
A: PAM offers the widest variety of any collated screw
system. Click to Fasteners to view the entire line.
Q: Where can I purchase PAM tools?
A: PAM sells through distributors. For a list
of distributors near you please contact
our Sales Department at (800) 699-2674.
Q: Can I purchase additional bits?
A: Additional bits can be purchased
from your distributor. However, a free bit comes in each
box of genuine PAM screws.
